hi ladies, your area of expertise is needed. so if you had to have second line treatment would you have chemo plus avastin? i have heard good things about this drug but am worried about side affects. also the cost. any loop holes to get it covered?  thanks mel

My treatment at the Burzynski Clinic includes Avastin + several other medications none of which are cell targeted therapy.  Why do Drs insist on giving chemotherapy to ladies with low grade cancers?  Avastin alone might be worth discussing with your Dr. since you're low grade.

hi mine is acting more like a low grade cancer . avastin in australia is only covered for bowel cancer patients and costs like 2,500 every 3 weeks that's why i was looking at that clinic your at. mel x

I am on Avastin but no chemo with it, but I have low grade cancer.  It should be covered by insurance for ovarian cancer.  So to answer your question I think chemo + avastin is a good choice if you have a high grade cancer.
