back pain

I have wrote about the ovarian nodule and complex cyst on the right ovary that has been stated i have nothing to worry about.  But i have had the back pain and bloating for a long while, but anyways i noticed that when i sweep, rake leaves or shovel i am in a lot of pain in my back, and i have never had this problem before. Could this be related to the ovary on the right side.  Even moving from side to side in bed causes a nagging pain in my back on the right side just below the ribs.  has anyone had this problem before, i cant believe how lost i am over this, being uncomfortable not eating very well as i feel full guickly making my tummy swollen (bloated) and it gives me a tight feeling.

The back pain  and things you are having could very well be from a benign cyst.  Anything that has become larger or has shifted from its normal position is going to put pressure on parts that did not have it before thus causing pain and pressure.  i have been experiencing the same thing on my left side.  I have dropped a good deal of weight because I do not have the capacity to hold the food in my stomach.  After I eat I get pain and pressure extending to my rib cage, but yet my mind,body whatever says feed me I am hungry.   I know  they can watch your ovary on ultrasound for a couple of months to see if there are any changes.  I know the radiologists where I work feel that u/s is a much better tool for evaluating anything in the pelvic area.  I hope I have helped some, I have not had a chance to use the computer since Wed.

I've had extreme pain 3 times. The first time I was out 7 days with pain, fever, chills, shakes and the pain was so bad I could barely move I looked like a 90year old lady hunched over shuffling around. I went to the ER on the 3rd day and they of course assumed it was my kidneys (due to PKD)since they could not get a clean urine sample to check since I was on my period. The next two times that it happened I refused to go to the ER since they didn't help me the first time and surprise I was on my period everytime it happened. After the 3rd time I knew it had to do with my periods and that's when I found out I had a cyst on each ovary. I don't know if cysts had burst before or what but I wouldn't wish that pain on my worst enemy. As it is I am in pain 24/7 and I always assumed it was my kidneys but now I wonder. Wouldn't it be great if we could wave a magic wand and have it all disappear. Hugs to everyone...:)

I had back pain and cysts on both ovaries.  My OB/GYN was 99% sure it was not cancer. I had 3 different types of sonograms, including a doppler.  All showed that chances were 99% that it was not cancer.  However, I was 59 years old at the time and it was thought that developing cysts at this age was not normal. Doctors decided that I should have my ovaries out.  I had already had a hysterectomy 14 years earlier due to fibroid tumors.  When they did the surgery to remove ovaries, it was discovered that I DID HAVE OVARIAN CANCER.  Luckily, it was early stage.  If I had waited, like my doctor had originally suggested, it would have been too late. I under went chemotherapy and have not had a recurrance to date.  That was 2 1/2 years ago.  My CA 125 test showed that my level was 9.  Anything under 30 is "suppose" to show that you do not have ovarian cancer.  The CA 125 test is only accurate for 85% of the women.  I was in the 15% that the test is not accurate for.

oops the gyne basically said she will remove the right ovary but it is going to look healthy she says.  At this time i havent done nothing, i know i definitely do not want her to do the surgery, after that comment.

Yes I only took the lupron injection once and never again, the gyne said if this chemical treatment as she called didnt work or caused that much pain then it isn't endo or anything to do with the ovaries as she said this medication would help??????  Basically with the ct scan stating that an ultrasound  of the liver and pelvic should be done for followup  because of the nodules. The family doctor hasn even ordered a ultrasound, and she is the one who requested the ct scan.  This gyne had not done any examination on me nor did she order any tests, she is following off the reports that were done or reguested by my family doctor?????  I am not going to give up I already thought that the next time that i am in extreme pain i will go to the ER.  I was going to go to my family doc to ask her what a second opinion was because i feel the second opinion i got was a joke.  I am sorry i am angry but i just get upset so easy anymore, when i dont feel good its not fair to my children or my husband but pain can do this, and i will not live on percocit i dont take it unless i really need to.

I am pretty much having the same symptoms as you - bloating, back pain, etc.  I also have two cysts on each ovary, but it hurts more on the right side.  I just had my 2nd CT scan and it showed that the cysts were shrinking, but I still have all the symptoms.  My doctors are stumped, so I'm having a laproscopy to see if there is anything that the CT scan isn't showing.  I was also on 4 different antibiotics, which didn't help either.  This has been going on for 3 weeks with me, so I'm welcoming the exploratory surgery.  Make sure your doctor goes down every avenue to see what it could be.  I know how frustrating this all is...Good luck to you!
