bloating/abdo pain/cramps

last month the week before my period I felt very bloated and was having achy stomach pains.  I just assumed it was due to pms, but then I had my period, and then the problems persisted after.  Along with the bloating I have had an excess amount of gas and I find myself burping a lot.  One morning I woke up and it felt like a balloon had been blown up inside my stomach!  Sometimes the pain is in the middle of my abdomen, then other times it is closer to my pelvis and feels more like menstrual cramps... Anyone else experience this?

A little background info:
I am 21 years old.
On birth control (I've never missed a pill and always take it on time, but could it be possible that it's pregnancy, even though I did get my period even after these problems started?)

I have an appointment with my gyno on Tuesday to have everything checked out

I have a little more info that I think will be more helpful:

My stomach is hard to the touch

For a few mornings I have felt so full when waking up that I can't even eat breakfast.  (I've always been a breakfast eater).  Sometimes I don't feel like eating until about 2-4 hours after waking up, before these symptoms it was within  30 minutes!

I have these symptoms also except I missed my last period.  Stomach is huge and all bloated, cramps everyday, and low back ache.  I am going to the doctor on the 18th.  Could be menopause as I am 44 year olds, but I am worried about ovarian cysts or tumors.
