ca 125 question

to make a long story short 2 year ago I finished chemo. my ca 125 was 14 . then it went to 19,23,26, then a big jump to 53, at the time I had a yeast infection and cold sore, my obgynoc said that would not cause the jump, I have serch the web and found pelvic inflamation could cause a jump. please advise, thanks

I'm sorry you have this worry now. It's good that you haven't had a recurrence in 2 years. Watch your numbers carefully now and see if they go up further. You can also do another CA125 in two weeks rather a month. It's the doubling effect that isn't good. Then I would say do a cat scan. I hope you are not having a recurrence. Yes there are things that can make your counts go up. But when numbers progressively go up, it usually isn't a good sign. Please keep us up to date.

Oh, that's great your cat scan was good! So if your counts level off this will be so good. If they go up then there are some oncologists that want to treat and other oncologists that wait till something shows up in a cat scan. This is easy to say-but please don't worry. Worry does not help at all. All my best for better numbers next time.
