can anyone help or relate to symptoms

I was diagnosed with a small 3cm complex solid mass which I was referred to a gyn/surgeon.  I went to see her yest. she did not examine me at all, she asked a couple questions I mentioned I have had severe back ache in lower back almost like labor pain as well in front lower pelvis.  I am also experiencing frequent urination and often it wakes me up in the middle of the night 1 or 2x per night.  I have very bloated stomach and have noticed a bit of fatigue not overly tired but tire very easily.  My concern is my grandmother died of ovarion cancer at 33 and my Mother of breast cancer at 49 my Family dr. thinks Im high risk and that was the reason for the asap appt with the gyn/surgeon.  However she just blew me off said that a mass of that size would not cause any pain and that the frequent urination has nothing to do with a mass on the ovaries either.  (I have had tests done no kidney or bladder infection either) this dr. is now sending me for a referral for a colonoscopy, my question is has any of you had any of the symptoms I am experiencing I don't understand why she is blowing me off and sending me to another specialist.

Yes definitely get a second opinion.  Call around and get into one  yourself..I had to do the same thing recently.  I have had the same symptoms as you..I have  2cm complex cyst.  I called around after getting THE SAME EXACT ANSWER as you.."cant be the cyst its too small".  Well guess what..its is the cyst! Within 2 weeks I saw 2 OBGYNs until I was satisfied with the 2nd one.  Dont settle for months..get in within weeks..tell them your in pain..they listen to pain. Keep us updated please..its good to know what others go through.  You should be getting a CA 125 blood test to test for cancer.  One thing I did was ask all of my friends and family for their OBGYNs names and numbers..and figured I would go down the list if I had to..I had over 5 to choose from..luckily it only took me 2.  Good luck!

I would hope you could get in to see someone who will take you seriously in less than two months!  That is a long time if something is going on, and, I would think (and hope) a woman with your history would be put on a fast track.
I would not settle for a two month wait, and I don't think you should either!
Maybe you could get a referral to a gyn/oncologist; those people would take you seriously; and, with your family history, I would think he/she would get you in.  Maybe you should call to make an appt yourself;  make certain you tell them your family history.
You need to be your own strongest advocate for your health care....push until you get what you need.  Probably nothing going on; but don't stop pushing until you know that to be the case!
Peace.

Pam ,  thank you for the comment, I actually took it upon myself to call  my GP office and let them know I was not happy with the information I was given yesterday and asked for a 2nd opinion and referral to another gyn/surgeon.  They agreed and said it may take a few months for another appointment but in my opinion another few months is better then a lifetime of not knowing.

Thank you again for your comments.

Go for another opinion...you have the right to see a doctor that will listen to you and understand your concerns.  With your famly history they should take you a bit more serioiusly.  Chances are it is benign, but, you need to be properly checked.

Let us know what happens.

Best of luck,
Pam
