Mothermary,
Good luck helping your friend. From what I know about cancer in the lungs, the first step is to fiond out if it is the primary or secondayr location of the cancer. A good friend of mine lost his twin sister to lung cancer last year, she was only 40! The Dr's went back and forth as to where it started, one said bone other said lung. She ended up at the Mayo clinic in Texas and with the proper treatment, she lived 5 years past her expected "time".
I included some links that may help you. Also try the American Cancer Society, I think it is Cancer.org. Yes, i looked it up and included the link. When you are searching for sites, becareful, try the .org and .gov. .com's are usualy opninions (i say USUALLY, some are very helpful!)
