I have mucinous adenocarcinoma ovca too. I have some nodules in left lung my oncologist is watching. If ovca responded well to initial chemo, same chemo might be helpful to the metastisis. Mucinous tumors are often platinum resistant. There are drugs that boost the response in resistant tumors. One that is promising is a drug that starts with flav. I forget the spelling, but you could google it . A second opinion seems important. Marie
I have OC, had lung met and after 12 cycles carbo/taxol, have minute nods on both lungs.
Have you found more info on your friend's condition? Keep us posted
My mom's ovca mets to both lungs and Fuda Cancer Hospital in Guangzhou performed cryosurgery to take two tumors out. You can google Fuda Cancer Hospital for more information. Yes, it was painful- but my mom's surgery is proof that something can be done. Take care, Anna
So sorry to hear of your sisters troubles. I will send her positive thoughts and prayers. God bless, Shannon
I have ovarian ca and have lung mets, they can tell with a with CT scan and the appearance of the tumor. I had multiple nodules on the pleura and 2 lesions in the lung. they did remove the pleura and one of the lung tumors. I just started Gemzar for the residual tumors that were also identified in my abdomen on the CT abdomen. I am sorry about your sister. The surgery is very painful and possibly because it is both sides they are not recommending surgery. Your sister is so young, I feel so bad for her. You could go for a second opinion. All my best. Marie

What about a 2nd opinion? How do they know that it is an ovarian mets without a biopsy? I don't know as I don't have any experience, but, would they treat a seconday "lung" with different chemo then they would a mets of "ovarian" cancer?
There are women on this board that have mets to different parts of their bodies, I am certain that someone will be along soon to offer their opinion.
I wish this 23 year old the best.
