could it be ovarian cysts?

I have read alot here about ovarian cysts and am wondering if any of you can tell me if this sounds like a cyst. About three months ago I was having really sharp pains in my lower right side. didnt seem to go away. I went in for my anual pap and exam she The Doctor could feel nothing on the ovaries. So I just waited for some time and the pain went away. I believe it was some time after my next cycle. Anyways I have had no problems until now. Im on my sixth day of cycle and having lower right side pain its been going on for about three days now.. Ive had cysts before and never new until the Doctor told me during exam.. The last one I know about having was removed during my second c-section. I am really woried as I have never noticed ever having them in the past. Cant understand if I do in fact have another one now, Is this pain normal?? I couldnt even talk to a Doctor today just was told to call first thing in the morning to see if there were any canceled app.. any info would be greatly appreciated.

From what I understand cysts can play with your hormones, my cycle has been irregular for a while, and I also feel I am a lot more emotional than normal. As for the bladder thing if they are large enough they can press on the bladder making you have to go more, I am also feeling a bit of pressure on my bowel area down there, not much but enough to make me uncomfortable.

I am going to go in on the 19 to get the refferal for u/s. Its really weriod how at times it feels like its bowel related(gas, bloating and it seems like my bladder is full always) while there isnt any pain like in the begining Im noticing other things.. I almost feel like Iam pregnant. Im usually teary eyed over anything before and during my cycle, but this month Iam still so emotional and its not the norm for me...

I had an ultrasound, was confirmed that I have two cysts and doctor insists that the pain is probably not from that but my mother in law has had them in the past and says they are very painful.

Thank you.. I cant get in to the docs until the 19th and thats just to get a refferal for an ultra sound.. That u/s app could be another two weeks out.. Im only having a few twinges here and there now. Its just like the symptoms I had three months ago. I really cant afford to go in at all, cause I have no insurance.. So now that the pain is getting better like last time,Im wondering if I need to go in?? I didnt have any problems for months could these just be the ones that go away on there own??

I would go in and get an US done.  Make sure its a transvaginal.  I think that if you do not have insurance it is around $250-$300.  I had so many of them done throughout my pregnancy but I cant remember what it said on my insurance claim....I did not have to pay for them but it still showed the amount.

Complex cysts may go away on their own or with the help of BC.  I was diagnosed with one in june and it is getting smaller with the BC pill.  It is still there but it is getting smaller which is a good sign. Just to reassure you, complex cysts can go away....good luck.

MRI stands for magnetic resonance imaging. Gives a way better more detailed picture than an u/s. They want to give me one because from the u/s, they said cancer can not be ruled out from that examination, and complex cysts have a chance of being cancerous.

thanks for the reply, Yeh I think I will go ahead and get one set up even if the pain is gone for the moment. It seems like both times I have had this lower right sided pain, it was before and during my cycle. Im stumped and also a little scarred to find out whats in there. What is a MRI?

I would really recommend you get an u/s, but I guess the choice is up to you. It would be helpful to know what's in there, especially the totally paranoid such as myself =) If it is a complex cyst from what I've read and to my understanding they do not go away on their own, as my doctor is talking about sceduling a surgery.

Im wondering now after reading your reply, do I have to go in for an u/s? I was ready to go to the er last night, the pain wasnt any worse than usual, I just started to freak myself out..Now so far this morning(knock on wood) I havent had any pain. I am walking around on egg shells as I am afraid the pain will return.. If I start getting pain again I guess I should go in and get a u/s. As you all might already know, getting a u/s app takes awhile, that is what has me confused. If its causing pain do you have to have an u/s or can I just wait and see if it goes away like the last episode?? Im not sure when or if I should go see the Doc or not.

You sound JUST like me! I first really noticed pains in my lower right abdomen at least 6 months ago..went to the doc she insisted I was pregnant even though a test turned up neg, so she sent me for a u/s and it showed a 6ish cm cyst (at that time is was seen as a plain old functional cyst) about 2 months after starting to feel the pain it subsided, went in for a physical exam and the doc could feel nothing, went back for a followup u/s to be sure it was gone... either it wasnt or i had got a new one this time it was around 4ish cm, I started feeling it again just days before the 2nd u/s. They also said this one is just functional. Went in 6 weeks for another followup u/s this 3rd time they did a transvaginal u/s and my cyst showed up as complex with solid structures (still the same size as last time). I dont know if maybe my functional had turned complex or if I had a complex all along just the transvaginal u/s is better. Anyways my pain has been off and on for at least 6 months, and I do have a complex cyst, and am awaiting an MRI to have a better look at it.
