Obdominal pain and bloating

I've been experiencing lower left abdominal twinges the last several months.  I've also had noticable lower abdomial bloating as well (it's not weight gain, I've even dropped a couple).  My annual pap and pelvic in december came back with 'an infection' and anti-biotics were perscribed that I took & finished.  I'm still having twinges and bloating.  I don't even know if theyr'e related.  I'm not uncomfortable, but it is noticable so I'm getting concerned.  I just don't want to be a hypochondriac and run to the Dr. for what is really everday stuff.  I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago and I asked my doctor how the health of the ovaries is determined now that I'm 'sealed off' if I don't have that specific blood test.  She said the blood test isn't necessary without other symptoms to indicate the need for it.   Thanks in advance...

I agree with Jane .. get the CA125 drawn and, at the least, a transvaginal ultrasound.  Personally, I prefer the CT of the chest, abdomen & pelvis with and without contrast.

OVCA does occur without ovaries and is usually Primary Pertioneal Cancer.  You are probably fine, but don't waste time worrying.  Rule OUT cancer and you can move on with your life.

God Bless You,

Judy

When you had your hysterectomy, I'm assuming from your concern about OVCA, that your ovaries were not taken.
You're not being a hypochondriac if your body is telling you there may be something wrong. Be proactive, it's your body and ask for a CA125 blood test and a transvaginal ultrasound. If those tests show there's nothing to be concerned about, you can breath easier knowing that you've checked it out.
If G-d forbid there is a problem, you can deal with it. Good luck and keep us updated..... Jane
