distended stomach/fluttering/frequent urination

Not sure if I am in the right topic area but I am concerned with my growing distended stomach. I had a tummy tuck with hernia repair 6 years ago and have had many revisions on belly and belly button. I am 140 lbs, 5,5 and 48 years old. 16 years ago I had a big baby who got stuck and required suction, episiotomy and then a c-section. Whew! I am not pregnant but can push my stomach out to look like a 7 month pregnant woman, especially after eating a light meal. I feel that after I void, my bladder is not fully empty and experience cramping and frequent urination. I have been having distention for 2 years now. Since the baby, who is now 6,4, I have had a problem with leakage when laughing, coughing or sneezing or exercising. These things as well as the ballooned stomach have gotten worse and I fear the umbilical hernia may be back. My father had the same type of hernia Please advise of which Doctor I should see and what the problem may be.
Thank you,
Marcy

Dear Marcy,

Have you been to your gynocologist yet? I think that would be the best place to start.  Your symptoms could be sooooo many things, from an urinary track infection al the way to something to do with your bowels. A simple urinalysis along with a pelvic exam is probably where your gyno would probably start to try to figure out what is going on with you. Two years is a loooong time to allow these symptoms to go unchecked, so please make an appointment ASAP. If you can't see a gyno right away, please, at least see your general practitioner (they can at least do some of the tests). My GP will even do pelvics. so, basically, please make a doctors appointment as soon as you can. You shouldn't be feeling like this, and deserve to know why you are feeling so badly. Good luck, honey....and get on that phone.

Hugs,
Shari

Hi Marcy,
Welcome.
I am surprised that if you have had this bloating/distension for two years, that your GP has not referred you on.
I would  advice that you ask your GP to refer you to a Gynecologist or for you to have a gyn check up.  It could be many things including a symptom of ovarian cysts.  Try not to worry and go and speak to your doctor soon.  Let us know how you get on.

Peace and love
Kim
