Deandra update

Subject: Urgent Message from Norma & Rich
It was 3 years ago today Deandra was on the operating table for over 5 hours. Our world turned upside down as the diagnosis of her ovarian cancer was confirmed from the July 4th ER visit.

This update is coming from Deandra’s parents because it has become very difficult for Deandra to correspond on the computer and on her phone. She is having trouble concentrating because her pain meds are continuous and she dozes in and out of sleep.

Our hearts are saddened as we see our angel become so frail and this beast of ovarian cancer making its presence in front of our eyes. We still pray for her miracle and give thanks for each day we are all together. Our family as well as Luke’s comes together everyday at their condo as we surround her with love, laughter, and tears. We still watch Beverly Hills 90210… Her favorite!

We have received several wonderful meals from the West End Salon staff and also some friends and family. Luke has made several fresh flower arrangements for Deandra to enjoy and several bouquets have been sent to her from well wishers. We have been touched by numerous cards of encouragement.

As parents, the thought of losing a child is unbearable. God is not supposed to give us a situation we can’t handle but we question having the strength and courage to accept that we might lose our angel. We pray everyday for Deandra’s healing. She prays for others, she prays for Luke to be at peace and accept the outcome which ever way it will be and she prays for her own peace and for the fear to go away. We find comfort in knowing there are so many out there praying for our family. We want you all to know how much we appreciate it. We will keep you posted and thank God for the hidden blessing of this journey. Rich & Norma

Very hard to read about Deandra. She is such a fighter and an inspiration to so many people everywhere.  I am praying for a miracle but mostly for love and courage and support for her and her family,

This is so very tragic.... I was just checking for information about Deandra... both Deandra and Becky are never far from my thoughts. The power of this forum is amazing and the power of the Internet is incredible in that it brought these women into our lives. These incredible, beautiful, insprirational women.... The fact that these women are in pain is breaking my heart. I know that others feel that way, too.  I've known both women since they joined Medhelp and feel a kinship to them that is beyond explanation. It's been a privelidge to know them and I pray for strength; strength for them and for their families... I pray for miracles, too.
