This is a very difficult decision for anyone to make.
It sounds like you and your husband enjoy spending time outside with each other.  I think that is wonderful!
If he is your life-partner he might be able to search for answers along with you.  Ultimately it is your life.....your decision.
Your oncology team and doctor should be able to answer some of your questions.  Those they cannot answer......I would hope and think they could point you in the right direction to find those answers.
Four years of chemo is a long time....especially if there are no remissions.
I am so sorry you are having to deal with this.......especially at such a young age.....just not fair.
I hope you find your answers and you and your husband continue celebrating life and find Peace.

It would be a good idea to consult with one or more hospice programs.  Tell your mom you want to be sure to control any pain -- hospice is also about palliative care (pain management).  They can help you talk with her about the end of her life.  If she's old enough for medicare, hospice shouldn't cost anything.

Good luck and God bless your mom, you and your family as you embark on this journey.

I think that the final stages are different for everyone and not certain if anyone can answer this question.  The doctors and nurses can help guide the person through the final stages and due what they can to ensure the patient is not in pain or fear.
