chambered cyst 14 cm

One week ago my doctor sent me for an  ultra sound as I was complaining of swelling in my lower belly, legs, ankle and feet. I  had also gained abut 70-80 lbs in the last two years - the majority of it in my abdomen . My abdomen was vary hard and firm to the touch , it was like working around a large rock.
The ultra sound found a 14 cm chambered cyst on my left ovary and the cyst has forced my liver etc upwards ( as happends in pregnancy ) . I have a second consultation on tuesday with my  gyno surgeon then i should be in for surgery within the next 2-3 weeks.
Im 29 yrs old ,  I had te CTA-125 and it was slightly elevated at 139 (33-1000) but again apparently that test is not able to be used to diagnose one with cancer - especiall in my age group .
Are chambered cysts common and what percentage of them are benign !?

Hi, I'm so glad your doctor is hearing you and has sent you to see a surgeon.  If surgery is scheduled for a couple of weeks, you are lucky.

My knowledge is limited about your cyst.  Did they call it a septated cyst?  I think with those, as other types, that chances of it being cancer is not high.  But, it depends on the thickness of the walls within the cyst.  I hope someone comes here to explain it better or more thoroughly.  It's big, though.  No doubt it's been causing you quite a lot of pain and other things you describe.

Good luck!
