exercise 6 weeks after oophorectomy?

I had an unplanned oophorectomy 6 weeks ago, and I had a trip to Hawaii planned for windsurfing. I did not cancel the trip, and in fact, I am here now. I am wondering if it is okay to go windsurfing after 6 weeks? Windsurfing does use a lot of core muscle strength, so I realize I could only go on light wind days. However, I am wondering if I could do any permanent damage at this time, or are things pretty much healed up inside? I feel really great, no pain, the incision is amazing, and is completely healed up. I am concerned about how things might be inside after  6 weeks?
I had removal of right ovary and tube, and tubal ligation on my left tube.

Thank you for your time!

Obviously I discussed this with my surgeon and she was well aware of the situation. I was simply trying to seek out more information, and I thought I was asking doctors on this forum.
So sorry if I offended anyone.

Jan is right about not risking it - you only get one chance to heal correctly.  If you mess that up you may have problems for the rest of your life. You would have been better off to discuss this with your surgeon.  Chris P

Wind surfing will rip your guts out if you are not in shape for it.  I wouldn't risk that and I would have asked my oncologist before I went. Oh, you didn't have an oncologist so you should have asked your surgeon. Paula is right, this is a cancer forum and you should have thought about all of this BEFORE you went to Hawaii.

Your post-op questions should be directed to your surgeon...I personally would not exercise or over-exert youself without speaking with your surgeon...as good as you feel the insides take much longer to heal....Good Luck...Gia :)

Windsurfing in Hawaii is your concern? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and believe you don't realize this is a forum for women who are battling for their lives with ovarian cancer.  I really think another forum such as Women's Health would be a more appropriate place for your question.  There should be a number of women who have undergone oopherectomies there.

Oh right I should have mentioned that. Laparotomy, horizontal bikini line incision.

Was it done through small incisions (laparoscopy) or a larger open incision (laparotomy)? I do believe recovery time is different between the two. I was back at the gym a week after my laparoscopy (removed a fat cyst, my ovary and tube). I wasn't doing 50 lbs of weight but I was moving pretty well.
