last year had severe pelvic pain, noncontrast cat scan report no mention on ovarian mass. now 16 mos. later, had mri for back injury at work, they found incidental ovarian mass, mri says "complex lesion arising from left ovary measures 4 X 5.5. X 4.5. contacting left anterior surface of uterus. there is irrigularly shaped enhancing soft tissue adherent to superior wall appro. 1 cm diameter. the presence of theis enhancing soft tiuuse within lesion would raise the possibility of ovarian neiplasm. However, this lesion may have been present on ct of 3/9/06 and this would favor benign nature. the remainder of lesion is of uniform signal intensity consistent with hemorrhagic or proteinaceous fluid. no pelvic adenopathy or fre pelvic fluid is seen. juntional zone is 1 cm. thickness no myometrial lesion.
no mention of this on last years cat scan report. i am very scared. does enhancing tissue mean cancer metastasis? what benign diseases could cause this. please i appreciate any input before i go crazy. i should mention am 45 no children...risk of ovarian cancer?
thank you!
