Hi Helen - good luck re your results. I have a scan tomorrow (Monday) and see my oncol on 13th Nov. (another wait!) It's good that you don't have too wait long for your scan result - fingers crossed for a good result. It's cold and wet here - now officially winter I suppose as the clocks went back today. Roll on spring! Warm wishes from a cold Scotland, Cath.

Hi Ruth... went for the blood tests and scans on Friday, and see my Oncol. on Monday afternoon re the results. Will post and let you know how it all goes. Now November 14th. should be a good day for you... Prince Charles's birthday. :-)... How do I know this, you ask? Well it was also my youngest brother's birthday, but unfortunately he is no longer with us. Anyhow, I hope it's a good day for you, and you get good news.
Sending you some nice sunny hugs from a warm 29degC here....Helen..   :-)

I have been below 30 most of the time, the only time my CA 125 goes up is post op, then it gets to 100.  With my recurrance I was 4.  I would kind of like it to go up, to have a warning.  Not wild about all the radiation with the scans.

I didn't tell alot of people about my cancer, until our Christmas card went out.  It was of my husband's and my bald heads.  His said Merry Christmas and I was Happy New Year.  He did not shave his head  for me, he is bald.

Good luck to you all with check ups may the numbers be low,

I too found my true friends that knew to send a little note once in a while and others helped get me out and back to what i love to do.  then others were gone after the initial flowers.  well as i always say what goes around comes around  time will tell.  still haven't got my results but they are already set in blood so no need to worry  (much ha ah)

...and some people think I'm strange because I've not told my friends about my OvCa. The only people who know are my immediate family and medical team. When I meet my friends socially, they treat me 'as is' so I don't get bombarded with questions, or evaded because they don't know how to react to my situation. I guess it does find out who the true friends are though. My wig is very similar to my own hair, and I seem to look like I don't have cancer, so no-one even suspects. I have a little wry smile to myself though, when I think about it.... aren't they in for a shock when I need to tell them... like when the curtains are drawing to a close.. .then that will be too early. :-)
Anyhow Ruth I wouldn't worry about the 20 odd who have 'dropped off'.... it's their loss, I would think.
Let's know how you go in a couple of weeks.... Spring and heading into Summer hugs...Helen...

More like a miracle I think Helen! Didn't quite understand your answer 'cause my question was has anyone never been below 35 and you did - once anyway!
Like you I feel quite normal - I have to remind myself that I am not sometimes. It is very difficult answering the question 'How are you' because people assume that you are now 'fixed' if you aren't on chemo and look OK.
When I was first diagnosed I had cards, flowers, messages etc from about 20/25 people. That was 17 months ago. Since the initial diagnosis I have heard from around five of them!  Guess the rest wrote me off!

Good luck with your check-up,

Hugs,

Ruth xx

........yes I did Ruth... back in 04 after the operation and 6 rounds of the cocktails.... down to 12. Must add though... "never to be seen again' :-)  Lowest since that magical figure ---50. but mostly travelling between the hundreds. Amazingly though I always feel well..even when up or down with the numbers. Very strange disease this one. Talking about Christmas... I've been doing chemo for the past 2...no fun I can tell you, as I like a wine with dinner.:-(
Wish you all the best in 2 weeks time Ruth... hope your numbers are down under the 35. Now wouldn't that be wonderful. ;-)   Hugs...Helen...

I'm joining this club too! Two weeks to the first checkup since the last CA125 in August. Since I didn't go into remission after my debulking and first 'set' of chemo - only 'stable' - I am fully expecting my CA125 to be well up from the 284 reading which is as low as I acheived..
It has been so good the last few months as I feel really well and 'normal' at present.  I don't want to go back to chemo but I doubt if I will escape much longer.

Anyone on here never got their CA125 down to the below 35 mark?

Let's hope we all have good news - what a Christmas present that would be:-)

Just to wish you girls well with the 'waiting game'... and hope that your results are all that you wish for. I have scans and blood tests this coming Friday...results on Monday. I haven't had a scan since December last year, so heavens only knows what's going on 'in there' now.....but no point in stewing... it won't change the outcome.
Looking for good news from you all....hugs...Helen...

Totally understand, you are allowed to be concerned.  Having blood work reminds us that we have this damn disease that has markers.  Without the visits and blood tests, life could be normal.
