has anyone had these symptoms?

About 6 months ago i began to develop stomach pain and painful bowels.  my doctor told me i had ibs and left it at that.  I accepted the dx, however over time the symptoms started getting worse along with diarrhea, nausea, lower back pain pain, bloating, stomack pain after eating, night sweats.

I had a hysterectomy in 2005 for fibroid tumors and cervical cancer.  My ovaries were left in.   I also had my thyroid removed in  1995 due to a benig tumor.    I am 41 y/o

I changed doctors in October 2009. My new doctor , upon palpatation of my abdomen, ordered an abdominal ct scan.  At this point i had upper and lower abdominal pain, more on the right side.

The ct scan showed fatty liver with diffuse focal sparring.  it also showed a 4.5x3.5 cm left ovarian lesion/mass, with mild free fluid noted in the cul-de-sac.  I am sceduled for a pelvic ultrasound and had  a ca-125 test done 2 days ago.

i saw a liver specialist who informed me that my liver was very much enlarged and he was concerned about the many lesion over the surface of my liver.

I also have a endoscopy and colonoscopy scheduled for this thursday.

my question is , has anybody out there ever been thru something like this?   what was you final diagnosis.   I feel los and worried, but also prepared......i just need someone who can understand. Please be honest ........

Wow, sounds like you're going through a pile of tests - I've had the same symptoms - now including breathing problems and severe weight loss and I STILL can't get any answers.

Sounds like you're on the right course - it's scary to go through so much - and you're right, it's completely overwhelming and hard to stay on top of it all.  I hope you can get a gyn/onc that can give you a clearer idea on what's going on.  Let us know how it goes!

I was told today that my ca-125 was normal.  i had a endoscopy and colonoscopy which showed gastritis, internal hemorrhoids.  The doctor took random biopsies.   I am now being refered to Gyn for my cyst which the u/s report read 4.1x3.4 cm left ovarian cyst versus cystic lesion.  i dont have my pelvic u/s results yet.

The transvaginal ultrasound will reveal a lot, and your primary care physician should definitely refer you to a gyn/onc -- not a regular gynecologist.  They are equipped to do optimal debulking should you need surgery, and recommend the appropriate chemotherapy if the biopsy comes back positive.

Please keep us advised of your condition.  You will get through this.

Hope you are seeing a Gyn/onlogist.  Please find one ASAP if your are not doing so.  I would postpone the endo and colonoscopy. until Gyn/oncologis tells what is the mass in ovary.  All the syntoms you described can be caused by the mass the ovary.

Lot of us have been through this before.  Be very demanding to see a Gyn/oncologust and Keep calling until you get to see him in a week.

What is your ca125 readings.
