depending on what is causing the pain, chemo can help....in some cases it can reduce the size of tumors and alleviate ascities.
My thoughts are with you and your family.
The best you can do for your grandmother is be there for her, listen to her, hold her hand....tell her that you love her.

Hi, my mom has peritoneal cancer that usually starts in the ovaries, stage IV and has lived almost two years now after she was diagnosed. I'm not a doctor but if her kidney and pancreas anre failing, is not a good sign. However, seek experts. Mom goes to New Haven Yale Hosp and sees Dr. Saif but they have the best doctors there with multiple specialties. You would need to gather copies of all tests, DVD's with your grandmother's results and send them to Yale Hosp for review. Their # is 203-785-4191 if you happen to live around CT. Good luck and keep your spirits high for your grandmother!!
