I have a friend a friend that has a 18.7 cm hemorrhagic cyst on her left ovary. She has been referred to a cancer clinic. What are the chances it will be cancerous ?

Yesterday morn out of no where had severe abdominal pain. Where started thought it was trapped gas. Then within 2-3 mins was dbld over in agony so bad that it caused the shakes sweating and almost blacked out. Went to er got ultra sound and was told I had a hemorraghic cyst that ruptered. And was told that hv one on left ovary as well. I never had pain or symptoms before yesterdays rupture.  Most peoples stories I've read said they had either on going pain or gradual pain that worsened. Now I'm worried that u/s was not conclusive to the type of cyst I was told. Has anyone else had a similiar situation with sudden rupturing of hemo cyst? Not even back pain during ordeal. Within 1 1/2 hrs I was feelin 70% better. But now very weak with mild twinges intermittently. Am I alone? Or should this b cause that I was misdiagnosed for something more serious?

it is my understanding that hemorrhagic cysts are benign, functional cysts and usually go away on their own though some grow very big and may need to be removed.
often your provider will tell you to come back for  repeat scan in 1-2 cycles to make sure it resolves.

Does a hemorhage cyst go away on it's own?

No. It's just a type of cyst. Whether it can still be cancerous, I don't know. But just because you have a hemorrhagic cyst does not mean you have cancer.
