Hi Jane...
I posted earlier in the week about the exact same thing although my gyne was fairly certain it was tumor spread and not granulation tissue - I guess I should call and get the results of the biopsy to double check that. I don't know how much that would affect your CA125? I mean, if it's coming through the vagina, then wherever it's inflamed on the inside you can bet it's just as inflamed on the outside as well (I would think). I'd be curious to know if your doctor thinks the CA125 increase could be from just that...hopefully, that's all it is.
I too, would hate to start a treatment based soley on your numbers when there's no evidence of disease...
Good luck...and let us know how you make out.
Becky
Sorry...I meant to add that yes, they use silver nitrate sticks to cauderize the tissue. They had to do this with some granulation tissue that developed around my nephrostomy incision..it didn't hurt, but stung for a little bit. Granulation tissue bleeds very easily and after the silver nitrate treatment, I've had no problems. (although it did discharge for a good few days afterwards)

Thanks Becky,
I'm seeing my oncologist Monday, and my GYN on Thursday so we'll have the answers next week.
I believe that inflammation, or infection can affect the CA125 reading, when you call to get the results of your biopsy, ask for your own information. Definitely call to find out what the biopsy showed, I'm sure you want to know the results and I really hope it's only granulation tissue.
Thanks for the info about silver nitrate, I'm sure he'll treat it and clear it up.
I hope you're feeling well today, it's been a rough time for you, and you know how much we all care for you.
Talk to you soon,
xoxo
Jane
