I read, with great interest, your response to another poster not long ago. I wanted to thank you for sharing your story. I may look into the type of test you suggested regarding the 24 hour urine test to check for secretions from specific tumors that often gets misdiagnosed.
I have been trying to get answers since Dec, 2006 regarding chronic diarrhea and unspecified (and very disabling)abdominal pain specifically on the left side. I have had a CT scan, abdominal Ultrasound, Colonoscopy....
I had a total hysterecotmy in 2000 since a month prior to this surgery, I had an ovarian cyst drained and the pathology report indicated ovarian cancer. No other cancer was found once they removed everything a month later. But, I try to be smart without overly worrying regarding my health. This latest series of events has me baffled.
I just had an open laparoscopy yesterday since the doctor suspected that surgical adhesions from the hysterectomy were causing me problems as they had back in 2001. I have since tried to keep adhesions at bay using a special type of deep massage. I guess I have done a good job at that since there were absolutely NO adhesions to be found during the procedure yesterday.
I am grateful nothing serious was found, but rather frustrated that I am now back to square one trying to find a reason for the pain and frequent diarrhea. I just recently had some thyroid meds adjusted and wonder if that is why my diarrhea has ceased a little at least. (Can you sense my arms being thrown up in the air as I search for answers!)
Anyway, thanks for sharing your story and I might persue your suggestions if I don't get some relief soon. I am hoping that this latest procedure I just had done might have proved to be the cure, if that makes sense!
