I am 51 with some history of cysts in past, they have always gone away? with birth control pills etc no real problems caused before this. I had abdominal discomfort this summer, very bloated weak etc then i got my period , as I have not stopped yet, but i kept bleeding , pretty heavy for about 4 weeks which prompted me to go to gyn.
Had a trans vaginal sonogram , and follow up mri, doc said there is a cyst on the left ovary about 7mm and possible another not as big. He said it was partly solid? so recomends removing cyst and ovary laprascopicly? I guess then they can biopsy and see if there is any cancer? in which case he will go ahead and do laoarotomy and remove what is needed to be removed?
My first question is , am I kidding myself , is this cyst too big to be removed laprascopicly? Will they be able to remove it and biopsy without danger of spreading possible cancer???
I am done having kids so , that is not really an issue. No known history of any cancer in the family , but sisters have had large cysts removed from uterus with hysterectomy.
Thank you for your time and comments, suggestions for second opinion etc...?
