more of an observation than a question.

Hi All,
I am new to this forum, only two days into it. I have to express some feelings though, concerning this terrible disease and the worry it causes. It wreaks havoc instantly into peoples lives as Im sure you all are aware. I came here yesterday with so much worry, dread, uncertainty and feelings of hopelessness. I have to tell you all, you are an awe inspiring group of people. I have read so many posts and comments from Dr Goodman, that finally I don't feel so alone. There are so many people in the same boat as I am and the amout of knowledge I have gained in just a few days has somewhat put my mind to ease, if even just a little. I feel empowered, I feel like i am ready to take the bull by the horns so to speak and stop feeling like a victim, but rather as an advocate for my own healthcare. I have you all to thank for that. I have multiple complex bilateral ovarian cysts.
My doctor had not really given me a sense of trust in her judgement, but after reading so much, I think I am on the right track. I am going to call her tomorrow and demand and MRI as it has been recommended by the radiologists reading my multiple US reports.  This is my life, my body and yes ultimately my choice as to the direction of my healthcare.
Thank you all for all that you do. You are in my thoughts and prayers... Keep the faith.!!!!

So glad you have been encouraged.  It is easy to become paralyzed with fear but it is best to pursue tests to know what you are facing.  No matter what the dx...you are an individual and stats don't define any of us.  Please keep us posted on your MRI and any concerns you may have!

I am glad you have taken the bull by the horns so to speak. No matter the outcome, you keep that attitude!  And if your Dr does not listen, find one who will. Ovarian cancer can not be taken lightly.
You are right about the women here. I have only been here 5 months but feel as though this is my second home and everyone here is extended family.
I wish you the best of luck.  LOL Chris

I agree with you about this group, they are amazing and being here reading and learning where to go, what to expect i have just this minute written down "list of questions" which is for my appointment with the gyny next week. I am usually one to sit there and just take and believe all that i am told by a dr but i know mistakes can happen and this terrible disease can be missed.

So glad to hear you being positive

Hi! I'm pretty new to the forum also.
Here's the ultimate advice we can give:  Knowledge is power.
Go find out all you can about your condition.  Get appointments.  Get examinations. Meet with specialists.  Talk to nurses, talk to other patients.  Read all you can on the internet.  All of us feel like helpless victims when we get sick.  So, go take charge, girl!  We're here to cheer you on.
Best of luck,
Kathy
