Hi There,
Marie, I am always appreciative of your thoughts. thank you so much.

For JRG,  you are in the immediate post op period. There can be alot of discomfort and other associated factors such as trouble having a bowel movement or discomfort with urination. Most of this can be normal post op healing.

Anesthesia and pain medicines can give you constipation.  The stress of surgery can set off an early period. You can have burning when you pee.

However, very occasionally, there can be complications form surgery - infections, bleeding, injury to the bowel.  If normal common sense maneuvers like you have done do not help, you need to call your surgeon. It is important to make sure there is not anything more serous going on.
best wishes

Sorry  I mistakenly answered this thinking I was in the community forum.  I will blame it on chemo brain.  Marie

Ask your doc about Reglan, Miralax and Colace.  That is what I had to be on for a while post-op.  Keep walking.  That will help some.  Also drink alot of water.  I hope you get back to normal soon.  Marie
