ovarian Cancer

What tests besides Ultrascans & CT scans are done to detect ovarian cancer?

Hi, CA125 is the standard test at the moment, but it is only reliable in some women. A CRP  is C- Reactive Protein that is raised when there is abnormal tissue in the body. Looking at the white cell count will also be an indctor that the body is fighting something.

CA125 blood tests are also used but not terribly reliable in initial diagnosis.  Basically the confirmation that it is indeed OVCA is usually during surgery or occasionally with a biopsy.
