Hi There,
first of all, I am so glad to hear you are doing healthy tings like losing weight and working out.
heart disease kill many, many more women than cancer does
The first step is gettign healthy is losing weight and 30 minutes of exercise a day improves cardiovascular function and strengthens your bones.
I agree with you- you have probably over done it at the gym and have sprained a muscle.
Sadly ovarian cancer does not present with a sharp pain (I wish it did, then maybe we could catch it at stage One!!)
There are many things than can cause pelvic pain that is not muscle strain
-constipation
-bladder infections
-pelvic infections
-irritable bowel
-endometriosis
-appendicitis
-adhesions
-benign twisting ovarian cysts
so much
go see your doctor and continue being healthy.
by the way, I am so sorry to hear about your loss of your first child.
best wishes
You are not being silly.
You are experiencing pain and abnormal bleeding
that is scary
let us know how your scan turns out
take care
Hi there
fear can eat you up
it will be good to get the reports on your scan.
as I reflect on fear, I witness and experience the fear of the unknown. The possibility of catastrophe can freeze you in your tracks. this can happen taking an airplane or it can happen if a loved one goes on a journey and you fear they may be harmed. It can happen worrying about medical conditions.
i also witness the fear that is experienced by the courageous women that I take care of and who write in this forum who have a known diagnosis of a serious medical condition such as ovarian cancer.
For people with a known diagnosis, they live it every day- the possibility that the cancer will return or that they may not see their children grow up. The fear can be disabling. Many people go on antidepressants and take something like lorazepam to help get through bad moments. But having said that, I am mostly struck by the courage that these women and their families have managing this fear and the uncertainty of life.
I learn so much from them. Managing uncertainty and fear, I would say, is the challenge we all face. How to keep on living as fully as possible and not be paralyzed.
take care
thank you for your kind words
i know to some i may seem silly ,unthoughtfull, ect but i just seem to think all wrong i guess ,i have had a hard time of it with one problem after another and life seems to have got me into a state of panic about things that others are so so brave about.
i also see a lady my friend who has cancer she smiles laughs and is supportive every day never moans or shouts ,she is a brave lady and i think the world of her.
anyway thanks again for the support.
my scan is in the morning i seem to be in pain tonight with bleeding that i cant tell if its a monthly or not ! not sure i can sleep and just hope i can be brave and get to this scan in the morning.

hello
i have my scan in 2 days time and right now feel so scared i almost feel i cant go for this scan,as i have said above my symptoms are pain left side very low at times a little further up,the last few days i have had some brown discharge i was thinking this was the start of my monthly but its now stopped ,i almost felt all the symptoms of my eriod ie spots cramping moody but its stopped? am out of my mind with worry that its ovarian cancer, even more so with this bleeding.
i keep reading online that cancer mainly is painfull when its more advanced? is pain from ovarian cancer like a sharp niggling pain or ache,i am sorry for firing all this at you but i seem to have been to see my gp so many times and they just say well not to sure best get the scan done ,i know i need this scan but some reasurance from my own gp or even fact would of made things easyer.i have had a ovarian cyst 11 years ago cant remember if i had pain or not ! but i am sure they dont cause bleeding do they ?
thank you so much for taking the time again to read this

i thought pain was one of the problem symptoms you get with ovarian cancer i was starting to think i had it at a late stage, this pain is there again today and a little on the other side but more so the very low bottom left, what is down there on the left ?
i have am opening my bowels ok have had a water test done all was ok one that day anyway! i just dont know why just one side hurts ? it is at times lower than the hip bone and other times on a level with it .
so do you think the chancer are low of me having ovarian cancer and dose age play a part in this .
