ovarian cancer is back?

After being diagnoised with ovarian cancer in March of 2009 I underwent 8 chemos and had laproscopic surgery removing my ovaries, uterus, cervix. At the end of treatment in november my ca125 was 8.8  I returned for a ca125 the beginning of march and it had gone up to 356. I had a pET scan in feb. and it came out negative for cancer. Now my ca125 has gone up to 1700. I feel good, my pet scan is good. Doctor has a "gut feeling" that the cancer is back.  What else could raise a ca125 test? I do not have any symptons. When it was 356 the doctor said it was because I had gotten a spider bite that was infected. That is now gone. I did have an inflamation of my right hip and was taking Tamiflu because I was exposed to the H1N1.

Have they done a CT Scan?  There is a reason, I don;t know it, that PT Scans are not always approved and/or used for Ovarian Cancer.  What about taking another CA125, this week?  Just to see if that last one was a fluke?
And what is the doctor recommending?  Treatment, tests, waiting?  What do you want to do?  Remember, it is your body, and if you want tests, etc that he is not offering, ask and keep asking!!!

Hey Joan,

Aside from the "gut feeling" that your doctor has, what is he/she recommending?  What caused the inflammation of your hip and has that resolved?  Was the PET scan a full body scan?  Your rapidly escalating CA125 numbers certainly are puzzling.
