I have off and on mild cramp/pain on my right side, (about 4 inches away from my belly button) for about 3 to 4 weeks, I had colonoscope & upper endoscope last September (2007), trans vaginal sonogram on February, 2008, everything are normal.I called my GI doctor for an emergency visit about 10 days ago, he said everything is fine, advise me to see my GYN.
My appendices was out since 1970, I am very worry, could that be one of the ovarian cancer symptom,
I am 60 years old, a breast cancer survivor, please give me some advise, thanks

It sounds like you have had a good evaluation. As you describe it:
--you have pain on your right side.
----You have had breast cancer.
-you have had your appendix out
--a colonoscopy, endoscopy, and pelvic ultrasound are normal

There are many reasons for abdominal pain:
-adhesions from your old surgery
-irritable bowel
-a kidney stone
-an infection in your bowel
-musculoskeletal

It would be extremely rare for ovarian cancer to present with a specific well localized pain (if only ovarian cancer had more symptoms! maybe we could diagnosis it earlier!!)

You need to see your general doctor for a good check up and a thoughtful discussion of what the circumstances were around the developing this pain (a particular food, a trauma, certain increase in exercise?)

as far as your ovarian cancer risk per Se - you may have a greater risk for the development of ovarian cancer than the general population since you have had a breast cancer. You should ask your oncologist if you fall into a higher risk category based on your pathology and your family history. For women who are at increased risk for ovarian cancer, the current recommendation is to consider the prophylactic removal of the ovaries and fallopian tubes. Unfortunately we have no adequate screening tests for ovarian cancer

I had mixed messages from my Oncologists and the only thing they wanted to do is operate and see what is inside my pelvis.
No thank you ...I said and I am doing everything possible to help myslef..Doctors aren't right all the time...mostly they shoot in the dark when they have some complicated cases...
