ovary and cyst removed having nausea ia it normal

Hi Im 27 and had my left ovary out due to a large 15cm cyst. I waited three years to get it out cause I was scared to death. It formed while I was pregnant with my twins daughters. I had no pain only when the babys pushed on it but after didnt feel a thing but dr. was concerned so had to get it out...So I went into surgery a few days ago it went fine the most difficult part was getting me to believe everything would be alright! And it was..By the way the stitches when they are removed didnt hurt at all either in case you are wondering I actualy laughed it tickled..But my issue is I am having nausea all the time and want to know is this normal...I cant swing it, its like I am pregnant all over again..Also I left the hospital the next day after surgery on my own obmition just cause I dont like hospitals and Im doing fine other than bending over and cleaning and picking up kids.. Well hope this helps Shauna~

I had 2 large ovarian cysts removed last May....I also experienced nausea and vomiting for quite a few months after my hysterectomy...I thought it could have come from also having my gallbladder out at the same time...it took quite a few months for it to pass. You should talk to your Doctor as he can prescribe some anti-nausea meds to help..I hope you are on the mend soon..I was not allowed to bend or lift for a long time so I wouldn't do anything to strenuous..Good Luck.  Gia :)

I'm with Cirella on this one.. They specifically tell you not to lift anything or even drive and that's with just  laparoscopic surgery (3 small incisions) ... I had my stitiches out in a week and I wondered if THAT wasn't too soon... Further, I couldn't even pick up a piece of paper off the floor. I used one of those "grabby" things on a poll or had my husband grab anything that I needed .. I couldn't even get onto my bed (it's sort of high up) easily.
If you're on pain med. that may be causing your nausea.

In any case, I agree with Cirella--- you need to call the Dr. .. Did they give you any "after care instructions? " Sorry to fuss but you need to be more careful.. any surgery needs to be taken seriously..

Be well

Hi, I'm sorry to be so blunt but from what you've written, it sounds like you've gone against everything your doctors have recommended.  A 15cm cyst that you wait 3 years to deal with?  Surgery then stitches out after only a few days?  Picking up kids, cleaning and bending over?  How is that even possible?  Fatigue and pain would have knocked you down.  I could barely walk after 3 days.  Oh, and leaving the hospital a day after surgery?  If this is really how you have handled your physical well-being then I'm not sure why you are wondering why you feel nauseated.  You should call your doctor immediately and tell him/her what you've written here.

Good luck to you

Hi Shauna,

I am no expert, except to know that that is pretty early to come out of hospital and to get stitches out (especially only after a couple of days). You should be taking it Really easy and try to avoid lifting and carrying if possible.
Anesthetic can make you feel yuck for a long time after surgery, it just depends on the individual.  But, I would suggest that if you are not feeling well you should go back to the hospital or your GP.  There could be a possibility of infection making you feel nauseous, so if I was you I would investigate.... asap.

Good luck..
Peace and love...Kim
