ovary cyst

Hi I am 34 years old I have 1 child and had a hysterectomy about 4 years ago, they left both my ovaries in so I wouldn't go into menopause, but I keep getting cyst on both my ovaries, even had 1 removed. My question is that I go see my Dr on Friday should I tell him to just take out both my ovaries and how long would I have to stay in the hospital.

My ovaries (and uterus) were unnecessarily removed 9 years ago at age 49. I am still shocked and horrified by how drastically it has affected everything about me...RAPID AGING for starters!

Hysterectomy can alter the natural functioning of the ovaries which may explain the cysts. Intact women's ovaries produce hormones until at least age 80 for optimal health and well-being.

Have you tried birth control pills? Those work for some women to keep cysts from forming and to shrink existing ones.

I am in good shape. I train dogs so I am out walking, I garden, paint, and am writing a book. I live a happy life. No one would know I have MS and Stage 3c Ovarian Cancer. You learn to play the cards you are dealt.

I know cysts can hurt very much. It is a hard decision. Talk to your doctor to see if you can have hormone replacement or use estrogen progesteron cremes if you have your ovaries out. I have gone through all kinds of PT but penetration is super painful but I can't use anything with hormones because of the cancer.

Most cysts are benign. If you don't have the BRCA mutation you have 1.4% of ovarian cancer in a life time. You need your ovaries. I had to have mine removed because I had cancer in both, but I have the BRCA mutation. I miss my ovaries very mush. I have more chance of osteoparosis. I have lost my sex life. I have no libido, intercourse hurts and I feel nothing otherwise. I am married so I can't give up sex. It has been hard on my husband because I grit my teeth waiting for it to be over. Then it pushes you into instant menopause. I soak the bedding every night.  May be 25 sweats a night. I wish I could have kept my ovaries. They could probably do ovaries as a day surgery. It has to be your decision and I would stick by you. No one told me what would happen after. I wish I had at least been told by the doctor.
