ovary pain

i'm a 52 year old and do not have periods anymore but once in a while i get sharp pain on my right ovary.  It's like pain]

Only my own experience; I had the exact same thing... sometimes the pain would be constant. Not an excuciating pain, but enough to know it was there. Ask your Gyn. for a Transvaginal ultrasound.(TVUS). My gyn suggested that right away and it was discovered a had a small ovarian cyst (which turned out to be benign)..Another possibility is that you may have a case of Diverticulitis.. Seems the colon and the left ovary are extremely close together ..That's what I thought my pain was due to since I have a history of Diverticulitis.
