Dentist too?  Ick.  Let's have a cavity free day as well.  LOL

Take care,

Guess that is why we have always been called "Ladies in Waiting"

The lady of the castle was served by ladies-in-waiting and chambermaids. She spent much of the day overseeing their work, as well as supervising the activities in the kitchen staff. The lady also kept an eye on her large group of spinners, weavers, and embroiderers who had the enormous responsibility of keeping everyone clothed, and offering the lady companionship. In addition, the ladies were responsible for educating the young pages who, at the age of 7, came to the castle to learn religion, music, dance, hunting, reading, and writing before moving into knight's service as squires.

History of the Lady in Waiting
The role of a Lady in Waiting changed and evolved according to to wishes of the reigning monarch and Queen. The role of the English Lady in Waiting dated back to the Dark Ages and the Medieval period. Where there was a Queen she would require high ranking ladies to attend her. They were not expected to perform trivial and menial tasks - these were performed by servants.

The Lady in Waiting was an important  member of the royal court and played an active role in participating with court entertainments, such as masques, dance and musical entertainment. The Ladies in Waiting were selected from high ranking and noble families.  The Lady in Waiting played an important role in the history of England. Many Ladies in Waiting became the mistresses of the King or the highest ranking nobles of England. The most famous Ladies in Waiting in English history were:

Katherine Swynford - Katherine de Roet married a Knight called Hugh Swynford and became Katherine Swynford. Her sister Phillipa was married to Geoffrey Chaucer and both served as ladies in waiting. Katherine Swynford became the mistress of John of Gaunt and they eventually married. Their Beaufort children were subsequently legitimised. John of Gaunt and Katherine Swynford started the Tudor and Yorkist Royal Houses. Katherine Swynford was therefore a direct descendant of Queen Elizabeth I

Mary Boleyn - Lady in Waiting to Queen Katherine of Aragon and became the mistress of King Henry VIII. Her role as the King's mistress was then taken by another Lady in Waiting - her sister Anne Boleyn

Anne Boleyn - Lady in Waiting to Queen Katherine of Aragon. Anne Boleyn replaced Katherine of Aragon and married King Henry VIII - this important lady in Waiting was the mother of Queen Elizabeth I

Jane Seymour - Lady in Waiting to Queen Anne Boleyn. Jane Seymour replaced Anne Boleyn and married King Henry VIII - this important lady in Waiting was the mother of King Edward VI

Catherine Howard - Lady in Waiting to Anne of Cleves. Catherine Howard married King Henry VIII - and was executed for treason and adultery

Jane Rochford - Lady in Waiting to Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard. This vicious woman was instrumental in the bringing about the execution by beheading of these two young queens

The modern Lady in Waiting is the woman that waits for the kids to get home from school, waits in the doctors office  with the kids, waits in the long grocery lines, waits  for a small bit of time for herself, waits for hubby to get home with the paycheck so she can pay the bills, waits for the new puppy to get housebroke,  waits for that call from an ER so far away, waits for the washer and dryer to get done so that she can have some clean clothes to wear, waits for her Birthday and hopes it won't show, waits for that first smile, tooth, step, word of her baby. So many more, we do wait and wait but it is all worthwhile in the end.  Just a bit of nonsense to brighten your day.  Marty

I had the very same results on a CA125.....I had a very insignificant upper respiratory infection and it smacked my numbers big time....so, that is probably what is going on with you.  It is good your doc wants to repeat it in a month.....those numbers can be a security blanket sometimes.  It is really good that your nodules are getting smaller, too.   Thanks for getting back to us and do stay in touch.
Peace.

Just got home from onc. Scan results made me very encouraged. The nodules left after chemo have gotten smaller even though I haven't had any chemo since Nov 12. That is the good news. My Ca125 doubled form 1.7 to 3.4. That is the not so good news. I know those are really low, but my tumors don't make high CA125 numbers. 12 would be a really bad number for me. The onc will repeat CA125 in a month. I do have a little cold and scratchy throat, so I am trying to tell myself that is why the # is up. For now I just wait til the next CA125. Wait & see seems to be something I need to get used to!   I am not good at it. Thanks for checking on me. You are both very nice. And, Lori..... your dreams may be confusing to you, but the can be pretty entertaining for me!

Love, Marie
