Ovarian pain

I have had problems with pain and all sorts of stuff for months now. It started with really bad periods, painful and heavy bleeding. it got to the point that i couldnt move during my periods and finally went to a doctor. they but me on birth control and told me they would see me 3 months later. no pap test, no pelvic exam or anything. Then i went in a month later out of severe pain in my lower admonin. the pain has increased and wont go away. i have bad headaches with this, lower back pain, ive lost 20 pounds in about a month to 2 months, i have to urinate ALL the time and they already treated me for a UTI but i still pee like crazy. then this last period i have had blood clots. and the pain continues. i have never actually seen a doctor, only a nurse practitioner. i have been in the er once and made an emergancy appt with her once. finally after they havent taken me seriously i switched doctors and now i have to wait till april 24 (4 weeks away) for a consultation. My blood tests were fine and my sonogram did not show any cysts. since my blood tests were fine so since my white cell count isnt high does that mean i shouldnt have cancer? also, endometriosis runs in my family so is all this pain due to that? i just want some input from some people because im really scared, im not hte type of person to go to the doctor and im there all the time now! ive been going for the last 5 months! soo wats the likelyhood its cancer or endometriosis?

Hi there. It sounds like endo to me as well, especially since you have a family history. You should ask your doc for a transvaginal ultrasound and possible CT scan. Keep on it until you feel you have been properly diagnosed. Remember ovarian cancer is very rare, so the stats are on your side. Keep us updated on your results. With love, Deandra

Hi,
I had endometriosis and it can cause terrible pain and heavy bleeding, it can cause many other symptoms too depending where it is . As endometriosis runs in your family there is a good chance that thats what it is (my sister has it too) . If  the pain gets too bad you will have to tell the doctor so that you can get treatment for it . If you aren,t happy and you think you are being fobbed off by your doctor , keep on going back until he is fedup of seeing you and does something to help you .In any case you need to find out what is wrong because pain is not normal its a sign that something is wrong .

Good luck and best wishes Angie
