Thank you, Amy. You are so right about the gut feeling. I have had second opinions by gyn/oncs. They say to just watch it. It is probably just scar tissue. They always go back to the pathology report. Something in my gut tells me that it is an ovary and the pathology report is not right. I am not a real pushy person. I probably need to get more demanding. I hope all is going well for you. Thank you!
Hi Ann,
From personal experience - I would definitely go with your gut feeling........and have it taken out. Or at least discuss it further. (with a gyne/oncologist) Maybe get a second opinion. I have ovca stage 1a - and during first surgery they did not do a complete hysterectomy because they felt it was contained etc. I never felt quite right about it and finally pushed for a hysterectomy - and they found uterine cancer!
Are you seeing a gyne/oncologist? I would think - being that you are BRCA II positive - that they wouldn't want to take any chances.......I would make an appointment to discuss this further....explain your feelings. Is there a reason that they do are not recommending surgery?
Good luck, and I am sorry that you are going through this.
Amy
