please ... i need your advice ... !?

hello and thank you for any help you may offer!

a few months ago i started having a heavy feeling in my abdomen and lower back ache (like right before you get your period) but i had a total hysterectomy 9 yrs ago due to a large fibroid. (kept my ovaries tho) i thought maybe it was hormonal changes because i'm 53 and haven't had any signs of menopause yet.
soon after, i started feeling a mild nausea all the time and also developed the need to pee a couple times each night, which i haven't done since the hysterectomy. the back pain is getting very uncomfortable and i still have the heavy abdominal feeling but it seems like it's moving up -? hard to explain, but i always have the mild nausea, so i can't really eat. when i get hungry and eat something i get a stomachache right away and feel like i'm going to pop. i end up burping like crazy, so that helps a little...  so i don't eat right and therefore have a hard time eliminating...  =(   and that gives me pain in my lower left abdomen.
last week my GP gave me a pelvic exam, a blood test and an ultrasound, all are normal.  she wants me to go for a colonoscopy now.
but i feel a bit like i did when i had the big fibroid- the bachache and bladder pressure, and that dull ache/heavy abdomen- i feel like there's something in there again. the difference this time is the digestive trouble.
so i put my symptoms into the search engine and ovarian came up- (not colon)
should i pursue this gynocologically first (so as not to waste time) what else van they do since my tests came back normal? - or just assume it's a gastrointestinal issue?  =(
thanks so much and God bless!

thank you ladies  =)
well, i saw the gynecologist and he said there is a small cyst in the left ovary and unable to see the right in the ultrasound, but everything is normal and he suggested i see a gastrointestinal specialist and physical therapy for the back pain...  so i will make an appointment for a gastro consult next. thank you so much for your advice, i guess i am a bit nervous because there is quite a history of cancer in the family    =(
may God's healing, love, and strength be with you    @>--'-   ..e...

At your age, a first colonoscopy is a good idea.  You probably need to see the gastroenterologist before you have the colonoscopy and that will help determine whether your issues are likely to be intestinal.

As you are also the right age for menopause, a visit to the gynecologist isn't a bad idea, either.  However, if your GP did a pelvic, an ultrasound and a CA-125 blood test, I don't know what else the gyne would do for you that would lead to an ovarian cancer or even an ovarian cyst diagnosis.  Keep in mind that cysts are much more common that cancer.

I'd go to the gastro first and then, if you're not satisfied with the results of that investigation, give the gynecologist a try.  (Cysts and certainly tumors can grow and be more visible on an ultrasound or CT scan in a couple of months.)

You know your body....go for a 2nd opinion if you feel that there is something more there.  My best guess would be that without masses of some type that would or should be seen in a sono, it is  highly unlikely it would be Ovarian Cancer. .... but, you need to be comfortable knowing what is going on....I vote for a 2nd opinion.
