pre op nerves

I have been diagnosed ovarian cancer, I am having a hysterectomy on the 30th July.I was diagnosed 9th June, I had a cyst removed that was a complexed mass, 3 wks later  was told i had ov ca....
They said it was early (thought) stages. The cyst was huge but only a small part was cancer, Mucinous carcinoma.
When it was removed the washing were clear of malignancy, all my other organs looked good, as they left everthing in tact.
I have decided to have a full hysterectomy, as I am so scared of ths disease, it s planned for next wed 30th July.
My CT is clear my CA125 is normal.
With ths informaton could you tell me whether I could be more than stage 1, is ths likely?
Is it often that even wth these results you could be more than stage 1?

Ellie72,
I too, think you are wise to get the hysterectomy, but wanted to just offer support and prayers for you - I hope you will keep on the forum and let everyone know how your surgery goes! Prayers and hugs, Colleen

Hi , the chances are small as the washings were clear and everything looked good but until you have the hysterectomy and you get the pathology lab report you can,t be certain. . Try not to worry too much (easier said than done I know)  . I think you are wise to have the hysterectomy as it could prevent further trouble along the road.
Good luck , best wishes Angie
