question about ovarian cancer

Hi, my name is Heather I am 31 years old & have a 12 year old daughter.   I was wandering what some of the symptoms were for ovarin cancer?  I have had problems for  about 6 years, my symptoms are, bloating, weight gain, missed periods for 2 years, now I get them but not regular, very very painful intercourse, pelvic pain all the time, it hurts for someone just to push on my stomach lightly, frequent urination, always feel like there is pressure in that area, constipation, back pain sometimes but not very often.  I have a DR's appt. on 04/03/08, what kind of test do I ask to have done?  Ovarian cysts run in the family, my mother had a full hysterectomy at age 40.  I have been to the dr's for this many times and they just keep telling me there is nothing wrong, my pap test always shows normal,
very scared I waited to long and it may be ovarian cancer.  ThankYou, Heather

It is very important that you are seeing the Dr.  You can ask for a transviginal ultrasound(TVU) (be very firm) to start with and a ca125 too if it is possible. Just be aware elevated ca125 dosen't mean you have cancer, most OVCA patients have elevated ca125. Benign tumer also can have these synptoms, your age and family history of cyst.  Most likely that you don't have OVCA.  But you stll need to get to the bottom of thses pains.

Don't be pushed away by drs. Be demending, persistant to have a TVU done.

Just want u know that PEP is for cervical cancer which have no tight relationship with OVCA in terms of synptoms. Also final Dx of OVCA on most case is from biopy.

Best wish
