Thank you for your concern. I like your idea of giving my self the gift of time. I need that,I've been wearing myself out lately.I think I deserve that gift of time.
Thank you for your answer. I am a SPED teacher in elementary. I basically do Content Mastery so most of the time I stay in my room sitting with my kids and doing things together. Iam only 35 years old.I guess, i'll just preapare another sub-folder and take another leave of absences to rest more.
As cirella said, healing takes place inside-out. What you see on the outside doesn't represent how things are progressing inside. It's very difficult to be restful, especially if you're used to being an active person. The old rule of thumb used to be no lifting of anything heavier than a gallon of milk and NO DRIVING for 6 weeks. Our stomach muscles are connected to more than we realize. Give yourself the gift of time and be patient with yourself. It will be worth it in the long run.
peace,
Anne
Hi taxasgurl,
Personally, one week is not enough time. I'm sure your doctor told you 4 to 6 weeks and they'd give you more if needed. You have sutures and need to heal on the inside and out. Making one wrong twist or turn could complicate your recovery.
You don't mention what you do for a living but at one week, just walking to the bathroom can tire you out. I've had a total hysto 6 weeks ago and still get a little tired and am still sore. I'm 48 and that may make a difference. You didn't mention your age.
Check out hystersisters ******* (dot not spelled, of course). There is some good information there.
Hope all was OK on your pathology.
