Thanks so much for the information. I'am geting a list of quesions together so when I go i can get some answers. She been watching for about 9 months She put me on birth control for 2 months and redid the US which showed no change in the cyst. Then we redid the US again 3 months later still there and then about a month ago the ultrasound they did showed I now have 4 cysts with one of them being solid. I'm not sure yet what she wants to do I'll find out more when I go next week.
Hi,
Even though the cyst is solid there is still a high chance that its not cancerous as most cysts are benign approx 95% . In saying that doctors are more suspicious of solid cysts or complex cysts with walls or compartments , the only way to determine malignancy is to remove them and send them off to pathology .What is your doctor proposing to do ? some watch and wait for a few cycles to see if there is any change in growth. The ca125 is not really an accurate marker on its own and is more useful in conjuction with other tests and for women diagnosed with ovarian cancer to watch for reccurance. I think you should ask the doctor more questions so that you are clear about everything.
Take care Angie xx
I go March 18th for another pelvic ultrasound and to see what my doctor says. I guess your right I need to have removed to make sure it's not cancer. I'm alittle scared about going through surgery again but I guess it's better safe than sorry. Thanks so much for your comments.
I can tell you that majority of cysts are benign. If I was you I would have it removed to eliminate any worry.CA 125 is not a good indicator .Best wishes
