recurrence of ovarian ca

hi Dr Anne...my mum had been diagnosed with ovarian ca stage IIIb serous adenocarcinoma..after undergo debulking surgery, hysterectomy, and removing as well as appendix..and chemotherapy for six cycles (with carboplatin/paclitaxel)..her ca125 was increased from 6 to 88..then dr did ct-scan..and found there is evidence of mets to liver (with small nodule)..then repeated ca125, the result is 156...then her specialist suggest to undergo clinical trials of double-blinded study those who resist to platin group..with patipilone or lyposomal doxorubicin..i'm a pharmacist..but just to know ur opinion..is this the management?is it worth to do this?oncologist said that she afraid tht my mum don't have much time..i really sad when hear this..
