Hello
Im 47 now but at 25 had womb removed. Before this i used to have painful ovulation(knew when i concieved before i missed period)for 3 days every month and every 3-4 months it was agony. After womb removal i was candidate for HRT which i took for about 12 years on and off. I can not remember the name i think it was climival(i know it was only 1 hormone)but it stopped all the ovulation pain. The pain only returned when i stopped taking them.So like the above post i agree with it being about hormones needing to be equaled out. I did have blood test to check if i was in eary menopause at beg but they all came back normal.
Hope this helps.
I have a theory about this, based only on my own experiences. Had an ovary removed in my teens due to large cyst. Managed to have three kids...but had lots of cysts and surgeries over the years. Ended up having a total hysterectomy this year, due to very enlarged uterus (no real reason why, thought it was fibroids, but none found) anemia from heavy periods, two large complex cysts on the remaining ovary (which had to be removed to be biopsied) and lots of adhesions.
For years I had terribly sore breasts...basically one week out of four they didn't kill me. Well, two days after removal of the remaining ovary I had significantly reduced breast pain. My theory? Estrogen dominance or perhaps not enough progesterone to balance my system. Google "estrogen dominance" ... your eyes will fall out from all the reading, though some of it is bogus I am sure.
PMS, tender breasts, painful ovaries....I believe I had too much estrogen, or, estrogen that needed to be balanced with bio identical or natural progesterone. This is all currently considered quackery by the mainstream medical profession. Read Christianne Northrup's books, they are a good starting point. More and more physicians are starting to pay attention to this, it needs more study and research. But the big drug companies can't patent the creams that are prescribed so they aren't interested in paying for studies.
Good luck!
Hello Cysters!
I suffered from recurrent "functional" cysts my entire reporductive life. (48 now but child-birth improved things for me) Can tell you two are much younger. But had there been an internet and the resources there are now I would have researched things like polycystic ovarian syndrome. I did when I found out about the "aliens" but before I realized a look-see via surgery was the sensible thing to do as the cysts I had did not go away, as they always had in the past. Check out soulcysters.com. They have tons of good info on PCOS, as they call it. I could tell that was not the issue before my surgery but only because of the info they offered and checking with my Surgeon. MV
Hi again,
I just saw your response below and then again here. I also get pain in the under arm breast area. It's not really 'pain', but more of an uncomfortable feeling. This seems to happen from ovultaion time, until my period starts. Also, the PMS has gotten much worse over the last year. I've been to the GYN more times that I care to admit, with these issues - cysts, breast tenderness, PMS. I do think it's all related and possible caused by the cysts that keep recurring.
