Hello,
I have been diagnosed with a bilateral adnexal cyst, my regular doctor found this while giving me a ct scan for some other problem I am having. He did say however, it isprominent in size. But, he is not my OBGYN. I went to my OBGYN in January and he didn't even mention this...and he gave me my yearly exam. I have NO pain with this....and this was not my problem I went to my regular doctor. Should I be concerned with this? As like I said, I didn't even know I had this. Could you please tell me what I should do. Thank you so much, scootnty
Hi. I have recently been diagnosed with bilateral adnexal cysts measuring 1.8 cm. I have had continuous dysfunctional uterine bleeding for the past three months with pain on and off. I have never had any children and am only 20. Can you please give me some insight? Thanks.
Hi there
bilateral means right and left
adnexal means the area of the tubes and ovaries
cysts means a collection of fluid with a skin around it.
depending on your age and previous gyn history these could be cysts of ovulation, endometriosis cysts, fluid within adhesions from your previous surgery.
usually cysts that are that small will not be felt. (unless it is endometriosis). you should check in with your doctor about whether you need a laparoscopy to evaluate those cysts or further work up of other organs such as the bowel or bladder
best wishes
