Hi I am 24 years old and I have been having pelvic pain and hardness, urinary frequency ( going atleast 20 or more times a day and 5-6 times at night), pain during sex, bloating feeling throughout my whole abdomen, and I know it may sound weird but I am able to feel strong pulsating right below my bellow button in the center ( this may be normal I dont know). I have been from Dr to Dr. First it was Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, but then my STD test came back negative. I also had 3 pelvic ultrasounds done. Only one out of the three said there was abnormality. The report stated that there was an area of echogenic gas ( shadowing) around my right ovary and said it could be caused by a dermoid or a gas filled bowel loop? So then I went to two Urologists. One said I had interstital Cystitis. I went to the second one he did a Urodynamics test and a Cystoscopy to check my bladder. That was normal so they dont seem to believe I have IC. I finallt went to the Gyno as well. He said in order to really find out he would have to do a Laproscopy. He says my symptoms are similar to Endometriosis but he also said if I did have PID I may have scarring which would cause my pain. He said that PID is not only caused by STD's it can be caused by a number of bacteria. I am so confused. He didnt seem to think anything of the abnormal ultrasound report. He has never said anything about the possiblity of it being cancer or a cyst but it's all I can think about. What if the ultrasounds just didnt pick it up b/c there was gas in that area. If anyone can offer any advice it would be appreciated! I am going through so much and I cant get any answers. My laproscopy is scheduled for next Monday 10/27. I am so nervous b/c the feeling of not knowing what is causing my pain kills me. Especially not knowing anything until I wake up from surgery. I would think my Gynocologist would order more tests but he says surgery is the best option. I try to stay positive and tell myself if it was a tumor it would have come up on the sonogram but I really dont know. The Gynocologist is doing the laprascopy and the Urologist is also going to do a bladder distenstion to see if it will help my bladder capacity. Thank you for listening.
