Hi Laurel! I'm happy to see your ca-125 is so low and supplements are doing well for you! I'm not one to talk down about them, I just think some people have different views on it...possibly influenced by their physicians.
I've seen the research on IP 6 (for those who don't know, IP 6 is a polyphosphorylated carbohydrate that is found in many bran cereals) as well and it does look to have promise, except that it reduces platelet activity, so it's important for anyone on chemo to let their physican know so this can be monitored w/your labs prior to each cycle.
IP 6 has been shown in a study to inhance the effects of Tamoxifen, so that is a plus!
Have you looked into Maitake D-Fraction? It's a beta-glucan which is safe and also boosts the immune system. I have a recent article about it on my site (link via my profile page).
Continued success on your remission!
To Laurel: Good for you on the low CA125 number and keep doing whatever works for you. Thanks for sharing this news.
To alanpvegas: Thank you so much for your comments. I learned something new and was not aware of IP 6 reducing platelet activity. Therefore, I thought it was important to mention your comments on the other post for the 'unfortunate' new comers doing searches on this website as how to increase their platelet counts. Since I never had an issue with low platelet counts, I didn't know a supplement I was on could reduce this count. So, I believe your comments are very important for that thread.
I also thank you for the upside on IP 6 & Tamoxifen. How coincidental that I'm on Tamoxifen at this time. I better make sure I have enough of my supplement!
My best, Angie
