I would highly suggest that you seek the opinion of a gyn/onc. They are specialists in women's gyn issues (not just cancer).
They have seen it all. Although 99% of ovarian cysts, tumors and masses are benign, please do not ignore your symptoms. Ovarian cysts can cause a whole host of symptoms including gi problems, lower back and hip pain, fluctuating hormonal levels (which can cause their own set of problems). Please get the 2nd opinion.

Hi Stephanie,
It is very normal to have ovarian cyst pop up month after month...it is kind of like when you break out on your face just before you start you period...and their is always that one that hurts to the touch. Us women get cyst on our ovaries which the doctors call them functional cyst...some cause pain and discomfort but is doesn't last, because the cyst usually go away. When concern comes in is when the cyst doesn't and it will grow in size, anything over 5cm needs to be watched and possibly removed. The doctors will also see if it is fluid filled or solid...fluid is mostly okay it is the solid part that needs attention.
I found out recently that even if you have had everything remove but your ovaries these cyst still come and go as they please...yet some like to make it a permentant residence which is not wanted.
I will be 34 at the end of this month and I am just learning about the ovaries myself. The ladies on this site is truly amazing with their stories and their courage, not to mention their knowledge. So my thought is, as long as you have concerns stay here and just browse at the comments your would be amazed at what you learn.

Hi,ty for your reply.I know it's very frustrating to not know what is causing so much pain, especially test after test coming back ok,which should be a relief, but it isnt being in so much pain.I'm 28 and basically housebound, its getting very depressing. What is most alarming is rapid weight and hair loss, thyroid is ok and sugar is a little high but nothing to be concerned about dr said at this point.I try to keep postive and keep in mind people are going through worse things, and if it is cancer dont always mean death sentence.
I hope you find an answer soon too, your in my prayers, keep me posted.
Stephanie
The only test that I found out today, that proves it is cancerous is a biopsy... I went in to get my CA-125 test and schedule a vaginal ultrasound to see if mine is maligment and they said that the CA-125 will show a type of major infection that is in the body and the VUS will detect the mass a little better but won't actually show that it is maligment...so I need a biopsy of the mass to find out for sure.
I am learning things daily on this...so I may not be much of a help to you... :(
You are in my prayers,
MeLisa
I just remembered back to my last pap/pelvic and ultrasound i had in er,(april)dr felt left ovary was swollen (hurt when pressed)and couldnt get good view of it on ultrasound or cantscan (also had vaginal ultrasound)but never mentioned a cyst.Sent me home with antibotics saying it was bacterial infection. Is it possible to have ovarian cyst come and go? I dont have much knowledge on ovarian cancer, but do you have to have a cyst for it to be ovarian cancer??? My last catscan was 3 weeks go when again i was in er for this pain, thinking it was kidney stone and had catscan w/out contrast..nothing shown up..any ideas??
I am not here to scare you either...yet us women do know our body and have a keen sense of knowing when something is terribly wrong. If you have an opportunity to have a gyn refer you to a gyn/onc so you can get more in depth with testing that is more related to your symptoms...it seems as though your dr has not given up due to the amount of test that you have already endured and scheduled for...so don't stop pushing to find out what it is.
I myself have those symptoms discribed and I still haven't found out what it is because there are several different things it can be. I am having over active lympnoids or swollen in my left breast area causing them to be tender and very sensitive.(Call by the dr that did the US-That was the first I ever heard of)and now the ones in the groin area are swelling up.
Personally if you can handle the testing the let the dr test. Just remember each one passed is one omitted...

forgot to add I dont have any kids and I'am 28.If your in early stage of ovarian cancer, wouldnt it show up on pap/pelvic, laparscopy,or catscan? had many blood/urine test for infections.
forgot to add this mimics appendicitis,I know with ibs my symptoms would come and go,but with ovarian cancer dont symptoms gradually get worse and more painful? is it possible to be in early stage and dr's havent found it? im getting scared!
