symptoms of ovarian cancer

I have all the symptoms of ovarian cancer, and a cyst was found on my left ovary 3.5x5 and the Md decided to wait and see if it grew.  I went back this morning dur to my symptoms have worsened. I have also been very emotional in the last 2 weeks.  I have lost about 15 pounds in the last week and a half. I am having severe abdominal pain, gas, bloating, nausea, occasional vomiting, appetite loss and severe fatigue/tiredness.  I am waiting for my ultrasound and blood test results from this morning. My grandmother has had cancer since she was 36. She started with cervical cancer, then it spread to her ovaries and her breast. I am so concerned right know. I am 32 y/o and have three kids.  I cry so easily, does ovarian canceer cause hormone imbalances that would cause me to be so emotional.

Have you had any test done? I have been having really bad symptoms for about 2 weeks.  I have all the things listed above, and today I could not stop going to the bathroom(diarrhea and frequent urination).  I also am as of today having a hard time holding my bladder.  I am dripping and then when I go to the bathroom it is a minimal amount of urine.  I have not vomited in a couple of days but I don't have much of an appetite.  I have such a feeling of dread like something terrible is going to happen to me.  I am probably overreacting due to stress but I feel so sick. I am even considering increasing my life insurance and wondering about the well being of my children if I am not around. Let me know if you go to the Md and what you are feeling. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Thank you for your words of encouragement, I still have not heard back from the Md with my ultrasound results. I lost an additional 4-5 pounds in the last 2 days and increasingly feeling sicker daily. Even if it is not cancer I am tired of being so sick. I have no energy. I work 4 nights a week from 7pm -7am and go to school full time. Normally I can keep up with this schedule, but not at this time.  I have so little get up and go left.  I hate this wait and see approach, I just want it all to be over. It is so wonderful to have someone to talk to. I will stay in touch as often as I can. Thanks again

Take a few deep breaths....I know how scary all of this is....I don't blame you for feeling the way you do.  It is quiet normal to take the wait and see approach on a cyst that is the size of yours.  Most doctors do not think of surgery for cysts until they are between 5 and 6 cms.  Your grandmother's cervical cancer with mets to the areas you describe does not increase your risk of being diagnosised with Ovarian Cancer.  The chances of having OvCa are low, it is a relatively rare disease.  I am happy to hear that you are being proactive in your own medical care.  Let's see what the results of this Ultrasound is before we start panicing.  Has the doctor taken a CA125, not that they are accurate, but it can't hurt to see the big picture of what is going on with  you.

Stay in touch and let us know what is going on.
