symptoms

i am thinkin that i have peritoneal cancer. I was wondering if any of you can explain the symptoms y'all were having. I have had my right ovary removed then a hysterrectomy but left my left ovary. And i am always having abdomanal pain. I am curious i got an email describing this and researching it online i have all symptons the web sites say. But i want info from actual people who have suffered it. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Brandi

I hardly think these women ganged up on you.  They are all very supportive in here even to the people that post that do not have ovarian cancer.  You're best bet would be to see a doctor like they tell you to do.  I've come in this forum a few times and have had concerns since my mom died of ovarian cancer.  They have always been so supportive and unselfish about addressing my questions and believe me...the are always happy for you if you get good test results.

I have peritoneal cancer ... symptoms exactly same as for ovarian.  ONLY a biopsy of tissue can confirm the diagnosis.  The cells even look the same as ovarian .. the only difference was that my ovaries were fine .. it started in the "peritoneum" instead of in the ovaries.

The peritoneum is thin membrane that lines the abdominal and pelvic cavities, and covers most abdominal viscera.  Get yourself to a Gyn initially for the CA125 and possible trans vaginal untra sound  ... then "if"  there is a concern about cancer, see a Gynecologist/Oncologist.  Judy

I was asking about the cells because some women get ovca and cervical cancer confused.  I just wanted to be more clear.  i am in a pretty bad mood today and I am sorry if that came across to you. I did not intend it.  As a group we are suffering a loss that is hard to accept.  I hope you find the answers you need.  Do not give up until you are properly diagnosed. I wish you the best.  Marie

But after I read about this peritoneal i have all the symptoms and since it is in the abdominal lining it is hard to detect. i have not had the ca-125 test done yet i am going to ask my doc for that tomorrow. but i have the swollen belly pain. diahreha. all that. Cancer all types one in my family. Im just scared and curious all at once i want answers which i am sure all of you have been through. I came in here for info that is all. Now i feel like i am being ganged up on.

You need to see a doctor with your concerns...no one can tell you that you have cancer without biopsies... and abdominal pain could be any number of innocuous things... From cysts to endometriosis to appendix and any other assorted things.. Peritoneal cancer is extremely rare and usually comes to those of us who have ovarian cancer.. Get back to your gynocological oncologist and ask HIM or HER....
