No right ovary seen Bowel in rt adnexa

I went in for an utlrasound thinking I had a right sided over cyst. I'm 47 had a hysterectomy in 2004. My rt ovary is all I have left. I have been having pain on and off for 2 months. The ultrasound says they were unable to see rt ovary due to bowel in right adnexa. My gyo is sending me for a colonoscopy. I go next Friday for pre-op appt. I'm pretty scared I really don't understand what's going on with the bowel bring where my ovary should be.  Had anyone ever heard of this?

Thanks any response are greatly appricated

Any of these tests with the possibility of something wrong are scary. I hope it turns out okay. My Doctor took out an anatomy book and showed me what they took out and what I was left with. It makes it easier to understand.

Thanks so much, I was scared. I'm glad to know that this can happen. I was worried about why I was being sent for a colonoscopy. You explained it better than the nurse I talked with.

When you have your uterus out your ovary is lost with in your bowels. The Uterus is a nice divider you take it out and the ovary gets lost.

I am sorry you are scared. They basically can't see inside of you so they are doing a look see. I had a colonscopy because I turned fifty. It was not so bad.

Colonoscopies have replace exploritory surgery. Imaging often times confuses the issues. I had a CT in January for my Ovarian Cancer and they saw something in my breast. In the end it turned out to be a normal lymph node. I was worried.

I have had Cancer ruled out through tests 3 times so far. I have learned to not worry so much.
