what doc to see to determine ovarian cancer in ma?

I am a 55 year old woman who is not sure who to see for a good obgy checkup to determine if I have ovarian or some gynocologic cancer. I do not think the run of the mill OBGYN is the right person to see but not sure where I can make an appointnent with a specialist. I have IBS, but it has turned to IBSc over the last year and I have have horrible pain and pressure in my lower right quadrant and back. I have had a colonscopy with no real findings and my GI doc did a stomach scan and it showed no masses. Four months ago I had a pelvic utrasound which showed a retroflexed uterus, and a heterogeneous echotexture and a few uterine fibroids. In addition it stated that my right ovary has a 1 cm cystic structure arising from the anterior pole, likely an ovarian cyst vs follicle. I also just found out I have scant hematuria and am about to see a urologist for a cystoscope. Both the GI and urologist think I should get a obgyn exam as the pain in my right side may be a gynocologic issue. I have urinary burning, pressure and pain on my lower right side and constipation, and have never had any children,  all potential signs of ovarian cancer and need to get this checked out fast. Is it possible the cysts are not cysts and something is wrong but just didn't show up on my scan?  I am of course scared and need to know where to go to get a obgyn checkup from an expert in the boston area. If anyone knows or can recommend a doc or calm my fears based upon my scan and pelivc ultrsound until I can get an apoointment, I would be grateful. In Boston, it seems you need to wait a month before you can get an apointment with docs.

thanks

HI There,

it sounds like you should see a general gynecologist for a good check.  That is the first place to start.  Ask your primary care doctor for a referral.
If you are having an urgent problem with pain, you should come to the emergency room.

I hope that everything works out. You sound very frightened. I am glad to hear that you are connected with doctors and are getting an evaluation.
take care
