Shirley,
You should get a abdomonal CT Scan (full scan that shows many views ) and a CA125 test. What tests did he do for the constipation and diarrea? Many times Dr.'s think that these symptoms are related to GI and they could be related to the female reproductive tract.

A barium meal test and some other internal exam that I can't remember name(All in Spanish of course!) The digestive doc put it down to I.B.S. but medication hasn't helped and problem won't go away.
I have now senn the doc again and was told that the smear test showed PAPANICOLOU II. I have been prescribed 3 vaginal suppositories and told to go back in a year for my next test. Should I be worried? Should I have another smear test sooner than next September?
I always think a second opinion is good. You have to take control of your own health. I would google this and read about it so you know what they are talking about. If you have a swollen ovary I would still consider pushing for a CT Scan.

All the above are correct...to rule out ovarian cancer:
- CT Scan
- CA-125 antiogen test
- Ultrasound of Ovaries
Those are the 'three' basics that are always performed. Now you said you live in Spain...although the above should be easy to do here in the States, I don't know what they will 'allow' in other countries...it's a medical beaurocracy everywhere.
